HSAC Staff

Lauren Armistead  •  Tracy Hughes  •  Additional Staff

  • Lauren Armistead became Executive Director of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, Region One (HSAC) after serving as Deputy Director for over two years. Prior to joining HSAC, she worked as a businesswoman and was involved in the launching of three companies, including one of her own, which provided comprehensive non-medical care services for seniors.

    Ms. Armistead also worked with UCLA Emergency Medical Services as an EMT-D for four years. In addition to responding to 911 medical aid calls, Lauren served as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and Training Manager for UCLA EMS. Ms. Armistead graduated with a B.A. in Sociology and participated in an English Honors program with a focus on Emergency Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles.

    Tracy Hughes started at HSAC in July 2008 as the Development Manager. Her focus will be planning monthly member briefings and tours, organizing fundraising events, applying for grant funding through private foundations and improving HSAC’s marketing material.  Tracy brings eight years of work experience in the non-profit Development field, specializing in fundraising and event management.  She has worked with a variety of non-profit organizations including City of Hope, St. Anne’s Maternity Home and Young Life.  Tracy holds her B.A. in Business & Economics and M.B.A. in Non-Profit Management.
